THE ARMANDO Q. LEYVA PROJECT (PART 4)

After the First 3 Projects in 2014, a year later, this is the time where THE ARMANDO Q. LEYVA PROJECT is vigorously active again. Well, it has always been operational for the whole season but the final quarter of the year is where the BIG Projects are being pursued. Because planning & surveying of these major events would take us up a year to finish. Of course, we would want to find the most perfect group of recipients that would embody our criteria as stated in the Charity’s mission & vision.

And now, THE ARMANDO Q. LEYVA PROJECT is starting 2015 by opening Project 4 which is giving back to God’s Workers. So on one Sunday morning of July, I visited our Brothers & Sisters at the GOSPEL OF CHRIST FELLOWSHIP BAGUIO. This is to check & observe their Church, coz’ I felt that I might be of something in use to their house of worship. And right there & then, I knew why GOD lead me to their place of worship and that is because he has set a new mission for me to accomplish… However, before all of this, I had my very first test of faith & that was I got lost looking for their place of worship, I didn’t even know that they already moved to another location, and so I have to ask several people in & around the old vicinity on where I could find the new site of the Church because the contact number of the person in charge of GCF Baguio could not be reached at that time. But nobody knew where they have relocated, so I literally have gone astray. And for People with ordinary faith, they may already have instantly given it up or probably told themselves that they will attend the service the next Sunday but not me. I won’t give up my faith that easily. It’s as if I have felt that GOD is challenging my confidence in him. And the fascinating thing is, in the end, GOD rewarded my conviction. I never gave up on finding his Church because I knew deep inside of me that I have a purpose for this House of God. My being off track led me to our Baguio Pastor’s house and there, their housemate told me the new whereabouts of GCF Baguio. As I have finally arrived at their new spot, they were already in the worship part of their program. I suddenly noticed that there were no LCD’s to refer onto with regards to their praise & worship songs, meaning, you can’t sing together with them because you don’t know the lyrics, especially when you are not updated on the latest Christian songs. Furthermore, I have also witnessed as well, the financial situation of our Brothers & Sisters there which really gave a permanent saddle in my heart… And right at that very moment, I have never stopped but instead continuously prayed hard to our Creator that he may use me in helping to build his kingdom in GCF Baguio.

So I had a meeting with our Head Pastor there, which is Pastor Oscar Joaquin and asked some questions regarding on what they need for their Church to improve more, then he gladly & openly shared to me their wishes. And I told him that I have a small project for GCF Baguio, along with that, I have also asked for his prayer that GOD would favor my plan for this Church. As I arrived home, I quickly & silently prayed to GOD, politely telling him that my heart’s ultimate desire is to help GCF Baguio and respectfully asking him to bless me so that I could help my neighbors in GCF Baguio.

3 months later, I’m still carrying that burden but GOD never failed my heart’s prayer. He has used my Sister Armina Joy Leyva Yuson to help me in this project. "It’s just a matter of patience & perfect timing and what I meant by “perfect timing” is God’s right time…" So right away, I called Pastor Oscar Joaquin to tell him the wonderful news, he got so ecstatic & excited that GCF’s Presentation System is now superb than ever. And on that Sunday, you can right away see it in the eyes of each & every member on how profoundly blessed they are feeling during the worship program. You could strongly perceive the Holy Spirit working upon them. It is just plain exceptional & out of this world! And now, it’s just so overpowering to see my own self being used by our GOD, I just felt so blissfully exalted as if my soul was immediately raptured in Heaven. I am just so full of gratitude to our Creator because he finally used me for a deeper & bigger purpose and it is just so delightful when GOD utilizes you for his glory & magnificence, you just feel that you have a sense in this beautiful World that he created in…

Psalms 37:4 said "Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart."

THE ARMANDO Q. LEYVA PROJECT (PART 3)

In Project I, we have focused on the Indigents. In Project II, the Malnourished Children.. Now, we still have one more prioritized group to help before closing the year 2014 and this mission that THE ARMANDO Q. LEYVA PROJECT must complete are for the Elderlies regardless of their health statuses.

Sister Vicky Benin, an adopted daughter of my Grandfather in GOD, approached and encouraged me to help these 50 Sick Elderlies serving as patients in Pangasinan Provincial Hospital (PPH). She told me that she got blessed after witnessing me walking towards Sister Mila’s (Cook) house carrying all the materials that I bought from the wet market which were previously used in THE ARMANDO Q. LEYVA PROJECT’s first two events while I’m on my usual household clothes. It has touched her because it is the first ever moment that she saw me dressed so simple & ordinary, with my face looking unwashed and no finicky attitude within my body. Well, to clear things out, I am every bit of that person she is referring to, that’s just the real me, so much contented with “Simplicity”. She just normally & regularly sees me during Sundays and on occasions. That is why she’s never used to seeing me on my household clothes.

So on December 23, 2014, we coordinated with the hospital’s administration and we got a permission to do Gift Giving, Feeding Program and Sharing of God’s Words to these 50 Geriatric Patients. We serenaded them with a worship song and prayed for their fast recovery & discharge as well. Pastor Hipolito “Jun” Sabangan even gave them an inspiring message, he told them that “We did not come here to insist Religion on all of you but we came here because we want to build a relationship that we can value with you and that we want to share our love for you”.

Majority of the Elderlies or Geriatrics as what we call them in the medical field have three or more health-related problems, commonly are cardiovascular disease, diabetes and arthritis. That is why they should be the ones infront of the line when it comes to HEALTHCARE privileges. But the heartbreaking reality is, I barely see any health-service benefits given to them, most especially the poor sector. Whenever they fight for their right in receiving good-quality healthcare, what will recoil back to them is further oppression from the authorities. Whereas, these Elderlies should be the ones getting all the good stuffs out-of-this world and out-of-this life because they were the same ones who sacrificed & dedicated all of their decades in giving and serving us, their next generation, the best future possible in which we are currently living & enjoying right now on our own backyards in this God-given world. And so to speak the real truth, "They are the ones in this planet who’s remaining time is already limited, that is why they deserve to have the best of what’s left in this world. And what I mean by best is in terms of love, care and attention, which is what their heart truly seeks…"

While we were praying for them, I saw all patients placed both of their hands in their bodies while quietly crying their pains to GOD. There, I realized why GOD chose me to be a Doctor, because no matter what career path I have chosen, I still ended up pursuing on being a Doctor. I understood it now, my bigger purpose… And that is to serve my neighbors through healing them with the skills & talents which our Creator has bestowed upon me.

The ARMANDO Q. LEYVA PROJECT (PART 3) would like to thank Pastor Hipolito "Jun" Sabangan, Ms. Shirley Fortin and the Workers of GCF (Gospel of Christ Fellowship) Church San Carlos. May our GOD do wonderful favors to your heart's desires...

Matthew 6:21 said "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also".

THE ARMANDO Q. LEYVA PROJECT (PART 2)

After the success of the first ever project for GOD of THE ARMANDO Q. LEYVA PROJECT, without delay, we planned immediately for Project II. An even bigger venture and this time, it involves 250 Malnourished Children from the Guelew Integrated School of San Carlos City Pangasinan. At a very young age, in particular those ages up to 7 years old, should be the ones to be prioritized, especially in terms of their developmental aspect, most importantly in their health stage. It is very essential that at this age group, they should be receiving the best and most nutritious foods produced in this world, they deserve that. Because at this age that they are just at the process of fully developing their different systems such as its immune structure. And by the way, Malnutrition has a direct effect on the immune system & allows a higher susceptibility to infections and it is also considered as one of the most relevant risk factors for illness & death in Children. Aside from that, it is in this age group that their brains are comparable with that of a sponge, it is very aggressive when it comes to obtaining data & information and these collective gathering would register in their minds permanently for the rest of their lives. That is why it is very vital that at this age, they should be carefully guided in all aspects of their life accordingly "Because what they will be in the future will come from what they will receive now." So if a Child, while growing up would undergo different levels and kinds of maltreatment from his environment, you shouldn’t think twice on why that Child progressed into a criminal in the future. But if we inculcated love, care, knowledge, nutrients & God’s Words in his heart & mind, imagine how considerably great of a person that kid would be when he/she grows up.

So the project had happened on December 12, 2014. Actually, the planning of this affair started way back in 2012, when Pastor Carmelita Dagaraga saw my first outreach program on ABS-CBN’s Umagang Kay Ganda & TV Patrol Northern Luzon, where I have organized a unique 10th Year High School Reunion Event, which is for me, a far better alternative compared to hosting a social gathering & celebration. I have instead, encouraged my High School Batchmates to put their money in trying to give back to those that are in need and at that time, we have unanimously chosen Mr. Denton Caballero’s 250 Malnourished Children from the Ambalangan Dalin Elementary School in San Fabian Pangasinan. When Pastor Carmelita, a Teacher by profession, saw my article about the outreach program, she eagerly contacted me, asking if I could also help her students, without hesitation, I replied “Yes”. And 2 years later, through God’s perfect timing and will, we are finally pursuing my promised project.

And again, we did Gift Giving, Feeding Program, Medical Mission & the most important duty of all, we shared GOD’s Words to these young delivered souls. However, this time, it is different because we had a formal program where the children get to perform their favorite dance and songs. And after witnessing & hearing them sing and laugh because they are too excited that someone is listening & giving them attention, care & love in which they really need, it would entirely soften up your hearts…

If we teach and showed these kids Godly love & compassion, imagine what they would be when they grow up. The World maybe or could be a much better place to live in… “There are so many ways to thank our GOD and one form of thanking our Creator is to give & share his poured blessings upon us to our neighbors particularly those deprived ones.”

After Project II, I just cried to our God… I have greatly thanked him because he gave me this rare golden chance to be used for his honor and glory. I am so overwhelmed that me, as well as each member of my Family served as vessels in sharing GOD’s breathtaking love to everyone, mainly the disadvantaged ones. This has always been my dream since I was a young boy, to follow the footpath of my Grandfather, he who have served as my inspiration to live a meaningful existence in this Lifetime.

The ARMANDO Q. LEYVA PROJECT (PART 2) would like to thank Pastor Carmelita Dagaraga, Mr. Denton Caballero, Ms. Shirley Fortin, Ms. Christina Montales, Ms. Salvacion Romero, Mr. Arnulfo Romero and the Workers of GCF (Gospel of Christ Fellowship) Church San Carlos. May our GOD do wonderful favors to your heart’s desires…

“Do not think of what you cannot do but instead think of the talents that GOD has given you.”
